Did you hear about the last book of CreJJtion @Maaike van Koert, ‘9 months to crochet’, is now also available in Dutch under the title: ‘Verwachtingsvol haken’!
And I have the honor to receive 1 of the first Dutch copies!
A few weeks ago I received an email from Maaike, the designer of this book, whether I wanted to come to here intimate book release party. Well ofcourse I want to! I did not need time to think about the choise, I would love to come!

Den Bosch

The book party was celebrated last Tuesday at 10:00 AM, in the beautiful city Den Bosch in the baby and children’s store of ‘moeders mooiste’. This location was very appropriate: the book is aimed at expecting a child and the patterns fit this particular period. The location of the store ‘moeders mooiste’
is beautiful and atmospheric! If you’re in the area, just walk in! In addition to baby and children’s clothing, they also have all kinds of trinkets! From cots to lamps, from rompers to dresses, from spoons for the first snacks, to bread boxes for the first school day! After we got to know each other, we were taken to a beautiful covered table: this was full of beautiful crockery, it gave the feeling of Delft’s blue, but in a new jacket: beautiful! For everyone there was a card with the name on it. On one side, the Instagram name (@zusjeknus) and on the other side your first name (Marijke) I wondered about the beautiful handwriting: some people can write so gracefully!

Small and Cozy

Maaike invited us to the table and we got offered coffee and tea… with special cake from Den Bosch. They call it a ‘Bosche Bol’ (jumjum!) Maaike told us about the reason for presenting this book in this intimate and small way: “She wanted to do something different.”
Her other two books addressed her a lot, but this time she wanted it more intimate: so that she could really speak personal to the invited people. Perhaps this also made the atmosphere so relaxed and cozy! With about 12 women we sat at a table! The beautiful crockery and the big cake ‘Bosche bol’… It was a cozy tea wreath, one of which you can only dream of as a child!

Crochet work

Maaike told us about the process; how her book came true and shows the beautiful crocheted pieces: we can watch them all live, feel, ask questions! We got the book and got a beautiful hook needle and could choose 6 beautiful spheres of Durable yarn in the color we wanted. I went for 4 pink and 2 beige ๐Ÿ™‚
It was really a big enjoyable party
! Several people I’ve been following @Instagram, I could meet in real life. And sometimes the world turned out to be very small: two did not even live so far away from me!

Lunch

At 11:30 AM we had a light lunch with cute salads in glasses and a delicious sandwich! After lunch, I was able to thank Maaike personally and gave her a small gift: I hooked a bag and stopped in chocolate and bought a bunch of roses.
In the hook book, Maaike scratched another sweet message. With a lot of fun I look back on this lovely morning! Although I had my camera with me, I did not dare to handle that big thing. I’m sorry now: I had to make a lot more pictures..! Who knows, I get more of these chances: I’ll just take it out of my bag! ๐Ÿ™‚

Goody bag

With a well-filled bag full of beautiful stuff I went home! And now, of course, I started crocheting from the book, with the yarn and the hooked needle ๐Ÿ˜‰
